Enjoy savories, sweets, champagne, and wine all while listening to associate company member musician Elyssa Samsel. Experience a preview reading of the Creatures' upcoming production of John Kolvenbach’s offbeat comedy, Love Song, (slated for the summer of 2012).

Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company is proud to announce its first annual From Page to Stage Festival of Original Work. After receiving over an impressive 250 submissions in its open call for short plays this summer, the company selected 9 plays to feature in this years festival. Seven of the pieces are 10 minute shorts and two are one act plays. The workshop style festival will run..

Selections for 2011 New Play fest!

The Creatures would like to say “Thank You” to all the wonderful playwrights who took the time to submit their plays for reading. It was no easy task to narrow down the over 250 submissions we received, but ultimately we came up with a list for this Year’s New Play Festival (Official Title coming soon).

We are excited to also announce that we have chosen to go beyond a staged reading and present the plays as minimally staged performances for a week-long festival. Stay tuned for details on this event, currently planned for this November! Meanwhile the selected pieces include (in no particular order):

Thank you to all the patrons and supporters who came out to The Greenwich House Music School for our Wine Tasting Fundraiser. We couldn't have hoped for more perfect weather or a better turnout! This August come celebrate with Playhouse Creatures Theatre as we kick off our 2011-2012 season with a wine tasting FUNdraiser. You will get a sneak peek performance into our possible 2011-2012 season, sip on champagne, munch on hors d’oeurves, listen to a live violinist out on the garden, enter raffle for great prizes, bid on a silent auction, and of course tantalize your palate with a wine tasting. Join the creatures at the charming Greenwich House Music School located in the West Village.

The fundraiser will take place on Thursday August 11, 2011 from 6-9pm. The wine tasting will occur outside at Greenwich House’s quaint patio garden (weather permitting). Please RSVP! Tickets are only $35.
